Martin has a law degree from the University of Oslo. During his studies, he was both a colloquium supervisor and assignment setter for younger students. After completing his studies, he started as an associate at Wiersholm where he worked in the field of M&A (mergers and acquisitions) and corporate law. He took this experience with him to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries to work with business policy.

Martin is interested in both sports and languages, and his interests have manifested themselves in his parachute patch and Arabic language skills.
