Ukrainian Yuliia Romaniuk (31) is a trained lawyer with a Ukrainian lawyer's license, and has herself fled the war. She will now help Insa's lawyers to reach out to Ukrainians who need legal aid in Norway.
Insa advokater is a start-up law firm that wants to make legal services within personal law easier and more accessible for ordinary people and vulnerable groups in society.
Around 40,000 Ukrainians have come to Norway as refugees after Russia attacked their homeland. Among them, there is a great unmet need for legal aid, largely due to the language barrier.
Insa's lawyers want to do something about this, and are therefore working with a lawyer, Yuliia Romaniuk, who can communicate with the Ukrainian community in Norway.
Yuliia Romaniuk (31) came to Norway as a refugee in March 2022. She is a lawyer from Ukraine, where she has several years of varied experience from different legal areas, including extensive litigation experience from the courts in Ukraine.
With her background, Yuliia is very well equipped to communicate with displaced people who need help with various legal issues.
Yuliia starts as an intern at Insa, and becomes a strong and important voice both internally in the company and for the target group she will primarily assist.
She does not have a Norwegian law license and therefore cannot call herself a lawyer or provide legal aid in Norway, but will help Insa to reach out to the Ukrainian population.
- Insa's mission is to make law more accessible to ordinary people in difficult situations, and we have a strong desire to help Ukrainians in Norway who need it. With Yuliia's experience, language skills, expertise and network, we are taking long steps towards our goal. We can't wait!" says Farooq Ansari, founder of Insa advokater.
